First time I've been pulled over by DPS since getting my CHL and the trooper asked me for id so I informed him I was licensed and carrying and he asked me to just leave the gun on the dash and step out. He just asked the usual where you going where you been questions then asked what I was doing out of town I replied "visiting the in-laws" and he said "Oh, that's why you took your gun!" we both cracked up and he said "here's your warning have a nice evening."

So there is one out there with a sense of humor....I thought I was the only one when I was on the job.

Just joking. You handled yourself correctly and it resulted in a warning. Good for you.

well, I would not say that.....LEO's are people just like you and me and they have a difficult job. Every profession has its less than desirable individuals and I have met a few but, not all of them are like that.

And the majority of the people, if treated with respect and dignity, will return the favor.

You are lucky, and it's nice when a story ends like this. I remember a recent jumping bean enema story that did not end so well. Count your blessings and if you have has badge number maybe consider calling and thanking his superior. cops like positive feedback and they get very little.
