F*%king Scum Bags

I'm coming home from a 12 hour shift this morning when the wife calls and asks me if I ordered $230 worth of shoes from some place online I'd never heard of so I tell her no and for her to contact the bank and dispute the charge. At 9:00 I'm woken out of a deep sleep by some efeminate man asking me if I had just ordered $550 worth of Fragrences from his company. OH SH*T someone has my debit card, I look in my wallet and its there so I contact the bank. Some B*TCH in Oklahoma managed to get my card # from one of the site's I've bought AR parts from. Either they have been hacked or there is someone crooked on the inside passing out #'s. Damages that have to be disputed so far $2500 worth of a Dell computer, $230 in shoes, $550 in Fragrences, $350 from office depot and who knows what else she managed to charge before we were able to cancel my card. I would pay good money to be there when the smack down get laid on this piece of SH*T. By the way the only companies I've used my card at were GTS and Bravo Company off AR 15.com so beware.

If you notice, GTS doesn't have any security on their site.
Bravo on the other hand(which I have used and love), clearly shows their security system. (pictured below)

Hard lesson learned...

Online purchases + Debit Card = Really bad idea.

If your number is stolen, real money leaves your back account immediately. Yes, you can eventually (in most cases) recover the money when you work with you bank, but it is a real pain. It is better to use a credit card. That way, you can dispute charges before any money goes anywhere.

Its very unlikely that the person will ever get "caught" so you might as well give up the hope of being there.

It's one of the big reason things cost so much, someone has to pay for this stolen property and its all of us.

And plus in a case like this with an obviously stolen card you have a BANK fighting on your side to too recover the funds, not just "you versus the world" like it is if your debit #'s are stolen.

It's not a business expense, as in a tax write off. It's a way to jack prices up to cover their costs. I report shop lifters because I'm tired of paying for their stuff.

My Bank of America VISA has "Shopsafe". When you are about to make an online purchase, you go into Shopsafe and have it generate a temporary credit card number. You set the spending limit and number of months for the temporary card to be active. You use this temp card number to make your online purchase. Done deal. If the card number is compromised, they won't be able to do anything if you set the limit to the amount of the original purchase.
