Well stated and I agree, Druac. This issue like abortion should not be a governmental issue...Period. You are legislating morality.

That's the quote "non-religious" people use to allow anything to be acceptable nowadays.
So what's next a guy wants to marry his dog so he can get free healthcare for it?
Hey if some guy wants to marry another guy we religious folk think thats way out there but the gays don't, well someone who wants to marry his dog doesn't think it's out there as well.

Marriage is between a man and a woman nothing else. That's my opinion.

Oh and the other acceptable catch all phrase is live and let live. Please you fight for your gun rights, so does that make you a "paranoid gun fanatic" as we are "paranoid religious right"?

You have zero issues with gays, well good for you, what makes this America is also the right for me and others to have issues with gays.

Why does the government define marriage at all, for anyone?

Yep...that is probably my biggest pet peeve. Religous people think they 'own' morality and should be able to force their version of it upon society...and I'm not just talking about the right-wing morality police in this Country.

Agreed government shouldn't legislate morality, but some don't see it as a morality issue, but more of a human rights issue. Guess it depends on where you stand on the whole "when does life begin" argument.

My biggest pet peeve is people who make sweeping generalizations.

LOL...you obviously have not read any of my other posts. I far from feel anything should be acceptable.

I have disagreements with lots of things and speak my mind about it. There is nothing wrong with that at all. What is WRONG is trying to legislate morality and forcing others to live by your 'issues'.

And yes indeed, I am 'non-religious'. In other words, I don't require religion to MAKE me a good person. I use common sense, personal experience, rational thought and freedom to determine my morals. I know...it is a novel thought. All of those things would lead me to the conviction that dogs should not be married to humans or be eligible for benefits.
