Lasik Surgery

I understand that this is not gun related. However, everyone on here is always helpful and i need some advice. What do you guys think about Lasik Plus? I am getting my eyes fixed there next month. Do you think that they are a quality operation?

i don't know anything about that particular place. sorry. i am actually having my consult tomorrow to see if i'm eligible by a well-known ophthalmologist at the hospital i work at. i've been putting it off for a while now - i'll freely admit i'm scared to do it - and i'm a physician.

Is that the one where they cut your eye? I can never remember which is which. If I ever go for corrective surgery on my eyes, there's no way in hell I'm gonna let them cut my eye. I won't even wear contacts I'm that protective of my eyes, haha. I just don't like the idea of something being on my eye for extended periods of time.

Lasik is where they use a laser to shave off a portion of the cornea. Radial keratotomy (i think that's the one you mean) is where they make a bunch of slits in the cornea to change its shape. it's not used nearly so much now.

Hmmm ok. I thought there was one that was still in use where they cut a flap in your cornea. Lasik doesn't sound too bad.

Lasik is the kind where they cut a flap of the cornea open and use a laser to change the shape of the tissue underneath. You are kept awake for the duration.

ah, sorry. like Grahamstein said, they do cut a slit in the cornea. they then vaporize thin layers on the underside with the laser.

The only scary part is when your vision goes completely black.... Oh and the smell of burning flesh! The result is worth it.......

Cheers!
