I've been pretty happy with mine. I had monovision done, and it's kind of strange sometime, but I can work a computer and see my sights. My doctor told me I would not see better after the surgery, that was just marketing, to plan on it being somewhat blurry for a day. Go home, take painkillers, and sleep all night. You wake up seeing though. I was surprised at how much mine hurt that day of the procedure. I called the doctor, and he said that was why he gave me painkillers, take some more. I'm pretty happy now.

I got IntraLase about a year ago and the procedure was flawless and painless. The following days had a little bit of stinging but thats it. Now I have EAGLE vision at 20-15 and I love it. The only problem is night vision can be a little out of focus sometimes, and I mean just a little, like looking at the tiny clock on the vcr across the room in the middle of the night.
I did do a ton of research beforehand and found one of the best doctors in the southwest US. He was a bit pricey but I feel it is definitely worth it. He is the doctor that people go to who had messed up procedures and he fixes them. He also had the particular Baush and Lomb IntraLase machine that I wanted and researched. I would definitely do IntraLase for the flap, it might cost more but there is no reason to use the old technology of the microkeratome (aka hand held knife that cuts the flap). Just make sure you are well informed and make sure your vision has stopped changing. I had mine done at age 30 after wearing contacts since age 13.

I had it done 4 years ago. Zero complaints! Best money I ever spent.

I can't wait to have this done because I hate glasses and my contacts bug the crap out of my eyes. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to wait until 30ish or so because my eyes keep changing.

Can those of you doing it or are doing it let us know how much it costs?
I'm thinking of doing it, but the cost is a unknown factor and i hate going to places where the price isn't written down anywhere because I feel I could be scammed out of money if they are not having a good month. |

I had lasik several years ago when I turned 18, it was my gift to myself. My vision never went "black", just blurry; nor did I smell any burning flesh. The worst part to me was the suction cup that is put on your eye to keep it still while the cut is made. The cup would not hold one of my eyes so the doc had to press the cup down really hard of my eye untill a good sill was formed. If you search youtube you will find a video of the process, but it will scare the crap out of you. Now I have better that 20/20 vision and couldn't be happier.
Mine was $1850/eye 6 years ago. *wow 6 yrs...where did time go*

Hi there, thank God, everything went fine and she is resting now. The amazing thing is that she started reading the labels on her prescription immediately after the surgery!
Oh yes, the cost was $1990 per eye...... Thanks. |
