Its Official ....
and I finally feel something ... real excitement almost wanna cry thinking about the fact that I'm going to have my first born in less then 2 weeks .... I just put together the crib a few hours ago ... Then sat and looked at it in its place in our bedroom ... its a weird and kinda overwhelming ...... and actually makes me fully realize that I'm going to be responsible for a little person in a less then 2 weeks .... No more going out and buying stuff just because I can on impluse...
I am so excited and ready for the little guy to come out ... knowing my luck he will be late (due date may 11) since both of us are ready to see his little face or is going to come at a time like when I first get to work and the traffic is bad and it would take me 45 mins to get back across town (normally takes 15-20 with no traffic) and I wont be able to get back across town quick enough... Im so excited right now I actually just about want to cry from the excitement thinking about how anxious I am ..... which is weird for me Im the typical non emotion showing guy .... as the woman call us men.... Im guessing this must be normal ..... the whole am I going to be able to fill these new shoes and new title .... Dad .... be able to provide for this my family ..... in this time ..... when everyone seems to be half crazy. Its a lot to phantom ..... and a huge weight I feel is going to be put on my shoulders. Im so excited....

Dude, relax! (I know, easy for me to say)...I remember the weeks before my daughter was born like it was yesterday (13 y/o now) and I was just like you are... a bundle of nerves.
Everything will work out and you and the missus are ready to start the adventure of a lifetime! Amazing how someone can come into your life and change it completely...it is all for the better, bro! Good luck and God Bless. Let us know when the little one arrives...and then keep us posted on how those late night feedings and (endless) diaper changes are going!

As for being stuck in traffic.....I would not worry so much about that. You'll most likely have a whole lot more than 45 minutes advanced warning. (wear comfortable shoes). Peace, D.

COngrats! Being there for the birth of your first child is the most exciting ride I've ever been on! It made me laugh, then made me cry. I can't remember ever having such an intense emotional response to something. I think the most important thing I've learned in the time I've had the honor of being a father is ALWAYS let them know you love them. Say it out loud to them, but show it in your actions too.
Best wishes to you and your family!
