(PV) Microstamp Bill signed in California
I guess no one will be buying guns in California after the supply runs out, as I really don't see manufacturers bowing to this BAD LAW
Buy'em whie you can. The rest of it is pure nanny state, and I really wonder how long they debated over SPERM CLEANSING Quote:

Not that they have passed that one, the next one to follow will be the one that died once before and will have a more far reaching effect.
Ammo manufacturers will have to use laser technology to stamp each casing with a serial number so the ammo can be tracked to the purchaser. Remington and Winchester both said last year when this was attempted, that they would stop selling ammo in this state if it passed. It died last year as I said, but with the gov. signing this one that also died last year, I don't see this one lagging behind. This way, the gun grabbers (primarily the dems.) will be able to say, "Hey, we didn't want to outlaw guns or ammo, it was the manufacturers of those items that decided not to sell in this state; blame them." What a crock. The rest of you around the country should stand by to stand by. As was said, what happens here, tends to spread. When the ammo one goes into effect, I wonder how that will impact reloaders. The bill last year said possession of ammo without that serial number will be a felony. Pretty soon, we will follow N.Y. and will be giving illegals driving licenses. We can only hope someone (like the NRA) will appeal this to the courts, just not the 9th Circuit. |

xd4life, one more law to go.
Seriously, the way the market is today and with me living in Riverside County, one of the worst hit, that might be a problem. My home was selling for 483,900 when the buyers fell out last August. The builder lowered it to $473.900 for a couple of weeks. It was the only home in the tract of 100 that hadn't been sold. We got a deal as they dropped it to $438K (it's a 2523 sq. foot home, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, office on a small (7400 sq. foot lot). Well the new one of our model is now selling for $420 and with the $25K incentive applied, one guy got his for $390. Also, we've put over $20K in improvements, so we aren't going anywhere for awhile. Everything I've read says 2010 will be the turning point. I'll have to hold out until then I guess. I realize what I paid will probably buy a house almost double in size with close to an acre, but I don't like humidity, freezing temps, and states overtaken by fleeing left wing Dems. I meant to add this for Etta: You might want to start buying all of the semi autos you can afford before they become scarce and very expensive for those still being sold here. |

My opinion is that this bill will only serve to increase illegal gun sales between now and 2010 when microstamping goes into effect. I think the black market is going to flood with guns in California, and then they will ban them for good.
No criminal with more than two brain cells is going to want a microstamped gun. Solution: they will either stock up now, smuggle them in later (like they do Mexicans and drugs), or modify the microstamped guns to remove the stamp. The criminals will always have the guns. Once the market floods with illegal guns, California will realize an increase in gun violence. That is just the ticket they are looking for to ban all legal gun sales once and for all. ANOTHER law that claims to be against criminals that really just makes it harder for the good guys to defend themselves, while having little to no effect on criminals. Since they don't obey the laws anyway, what's to stop them from picking up a glock in Vegas??? /me shakes his head in disgust |

The gun grabbers are definitely learning from their experiences and improving their tactics, that is what concerns me.
From suing the gun manufacturers, grabbing guns by taking advantage of the natural disaster (e.g., Katrina), to this monkey business in Cali now, the gun grabbers have shown a lot of creative thinking and initiatives that further their agenda. At the same time, all we can do is playing defensive. |
