I'm sorry fellas, but I don't post much...whenever I do it's usually to vent about the daily things in life, as you guys all can relate to. I enjoy gettin some thoughts into words as part of some venting...even if it's totally off the wall. For those of you that know what I'm ranting about at times, KNOW what I mean........
For those guys like me that work late at night...come home to a quiet house with everyone sleeping....there is nothing cooler than a few moments of what I'd like to call "Dad time". The time's that we used to have before we had to make time for everything else.....times when we were "ME"
After having to be Daddy/Husband....today is the first time in months that I've came home, cracked open a 6 pack(Sam Adam's Black Lager today) and put on some tunes as I sit and cruise around my favorite place...XDTALK. It's not a booze related thing as some would think....I happen to enjoy a tasty beverage just "sometimes". A fairly expensive 6 pack, once a month isn't a big deal as far as that goes.
For some reason, after being a hyped up nervous wreck, working a crappy security job which burns my ass somtimes(people suck more than often)....it's the most relaxing feeling in the world....enjoying a tasty full flavored American brewed "brew"...and putting on some jams that I only enjoy. Today's selection includes some Boston, Audioslave, and a guy named Kenny Wayne Shepard "Blue on Black".
I'm not sure why, but it's always been no matter what deck of cards I've been dealt, I've always felt better when I'm able to just sit still long enough to get lost in my thoughts, like I am typing this..., and listen to some of my favorite tunes.
It always ends up the same....get to listening and things seem to just melt...and the music seaps in. Next thing I know I've forgotten all my problems....and all it took was a little time to get my head movin to the music...........even if it's for only a few minutes only.
It kills me everytime this thing happens for some reason....I always end up feelin awed at the experience......and wondering why I don't do it more freakin often....I can honestly say, that I'll be able to go to sleep later without having dreams about work, etc...I'll be able to sleep.

I am a afficianado of good beer, Vodka and Tequila.

After being a husband and father, I like to crack open a nice German Heffeweizen or Belgian White with a slice of Orange. Or maybe pour a nice Ketel One Vodka and Cranberry. Kick back in my office and play a nice First Person Shooter game. Right now, I am playing STALKER- Shadow of Chernobyl. I always like a little music in the background.

Right now, I have David Bowie in the CD player.

the male started drinking beer when he turned 21 (3 in dog years) wouldnt touch the stuff before then though LOL he only drinks my homebrew though, wont touch my natty light!!!

The garage is your friend. I have found that the significant other will stay out of the garage for two main reasons.

1. It smells funny. (smells great to me, like a home depot)
2. The temperature (too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter.)

Often times grages have good sound insulation when attached to the house to cut down on the noise of the garage door opener. This means they cant hear you and you cant hear them

. I notice that more and more of my fun things end up in the garage. It just started with a radio. When I replaced our surround sound the old one went to the garage. Then we got a new TV, the old one went in the garage. Thats where my workbench and reloading bench are too. Now that I step back and look at it, there is a 27" TV, 5.1 dolby surround, and my laptop via wireless in the garage. All I need now is yo get the recliner out there wit a kegerator and I will be set for life.

Its nice to get that alone time. This is one of the few places I can go to get that. Sometimes I go for a drive. No where in particular but always at sundown. Just enough light to see where you are but late in the day when the air cools down. Put on some stevie ray vaugh with the windows down and just cruise. I think of absolutely nothing when I am in there.
