Angry 2 slightly disturbing "incidents" tonight...

OK, these aren't earth-shattering things, but they occurred within 5 minutes of each other, and at the same place, just a little while ago....

I went over to the dollar store on my way home from work tonight to pick up some dinner (Nissin Chicken Lo Mein and extra chicken - yummy). Anyway, I luck out and get a front row spot next to the handicap parking. As I walk from my car I see a large white car parked in the first HC spot with the trunk open, and two guys standing there talking. I also notice a cane propped against the car. OK, whatever. I go inside. Thinking to myself that I recognize the car and cane from somewhere, I start trying to remember. Soon I recall that same car parked outside my kids' daycare everyday when I'd drop off my kids in the morning (summer time). The owner of the car/cane would often "hang" in the classroom w/ his daughter/granddaughter (not sure which), and also would talk w/ my kids and be friendly with them. He would hang out outside the daycare, talking to everyone who walked inside or past... (back to this part, soon).

While inside the dollar store, in the back at the freezer section, I over hear a conversation between a mother and her child (Mom = 40's, kid = 12):

Mom: You're being a pain in the ass, now knock it the hell off!
Kid: Mom, "ass" is a bad word.
Mom: No it's not, it's in the Bible.
Kid: Oh.

I'm like WTF?? You stupid fcuking b!tch! You're justifying calling your own kid a PITA by explaining the same word (totally out of context and meaning) is also found in the Bible? And I'm sure she thinks "hell" is used in the correct context, too. That has to be the most lame-a$$ed BS reason for an adult to "get away with" swearing in front of her kid. Ugh!!! This is probably the same kind of "parent" that swears in front of her kids, yet smacks them across the mouth for them repeating words they hear coming from their own Mom's mouth... Anyway that's a different pet-peeve.... UGH!!!

I'm walking back out to my car, and seeing the owner of the car/cane, determine (recognize) that it's the same guy from the daycare who my kids spend a little time with. As I get closer, though, I notice that he's showing the other guy small black plastic cases from his trunk, and saying something like "and I got this one, too. So, how many you want?" I'm like WTF!! He's selling bootleg DVD's out of his trunk! And this store/parking lot has been the scene of a bootleg DVD bust not just a few months ago!!!

Now, in and of itself I wouldn't truly be so upset. But this guy is selling illegal stuff from the trunk of his car, and I've "let" him around my kids daily at daycare!! WTF else does he sell? Motherfcuker!!!

I've just lost all respect for him, and certain other Moms in general.

WTF is wrong w/ people!!??

[/rant] OK, I'm better now.

anyone else want to vent about stupid crap like this??? Go ahead...

You cannot legislate morality, and banning inanimate objects will never substitute for personal responsibility. Banning and limiting things merely makes them profitable to criminals via laws of supply and demand.

I hate those who park in front of the doors to a grocery. As if leaving someone in the car or turning the hazard lights on makes it ok. Even if the stop is going to be "quick", go find a proper parking spot. They are reducing visibility in a high foot traffic area.

Dave, you get as riled up as I do over this stuff when I see a mom driving along at 70 miles an hour on the freeway and she's got three kids climbing unrestrained all over the inside of the car. Apparently the thought of them flying through the windshield in an accident never crosses her mind...

Yeah, its even better when she's going 85 mph weaving in and out of congested traffic smoking a cigarette talking on the cell phone and trying to apply makeup.

I just want you guys to know that I did my best to curtail that when I was still working. I used to get a laugh out of the ones parked along the red curb that had written on it, "No parking" and the vehicle code. This was generally in front of a store in a parking lot. They would put their flashers on to make it "okay."

I would ask them why they were parked in front of a no parking zone and they would reply...wait for it...."I'm not parked, my engine is running." WTF! The ticket I gave them would usually convince them to go park it.

Sometimes I wish they had given me a couple of cases of tickets when I retired.

You should've ratted him out! Didn't I hear that they're offering up to $1,000,000 reward for reporting software piracy? Maybe he's got some software?

bwhaha!!! I didn't think it would be sneaky enough to go to my van, grab my camera bag out of my work bag, and walk over to their car and snap a picture. He probably would have tried to beat me w/ his cane. (BTW: his cane is more of a "pimp Daddy" item and not for physical problem. You should see this guy. He thinks he's all that. Like his POS white Cadillac pimp-mobile and his gold rings fool anyone into thinking he's anything more than a wanna-be.)

Well, not to sound like a tattle-tale but I did call the police non-emergency number and reported the "shady situation" to the authorities. Hopefully he was still there, w/ the trunk open, with all the DVD's in his bag, when the cops rolled up on him.

If the engine's running... wouldn't the kind thing to do be to repark their car in the back of the parking lot and then drop off their keys at the courtesy desk telling them that you found the keys outside. I wouldn't want them to get a ticket.
