Arrrrg!!!

So I make arrangements to take my sc40 with me on a flight to CO. No problem. I have a Utah permit & used it in July when I was passing through. Just to be sure, I double checked the CO reciprocity laws. CO as of July 31, '07 no longer honors out of state permits issued to non-residents of the state that issued. DANG IT!

And even if I had a CA permit, CO wouldn't honor it either.

Just needed to vent. Now I'm ready to move.

Since I don't recall and packing.org is no more, are you saying Co. isn't one of the 13 or so states that doesn't honor Ca. permits.

Yes that's right. CO does NOT honor CA permits. Been specifically checking CO out as a place to move to and noted that. A bit disconcerting.

As bycyclist stated, CO does not honor CA permits. I didn't really care before because they previously honored non-resident UT permits. I'm disappointed to say the least.

If you move here, it is pretty easy to get a permit. I don't see what the problem is, but thats just me. So Colorado will not honor a permit for someone that is not a resident of said state. Real easy, all of us need to get the goobermint to push for a national reciprocity. Colorado permit is probably the easiest to get, and in El Paso county only runs about 130.00. if you have a handgun safety class within the last 5 years or a DD214 from the Military that shows pistol quals or Armorer training that is good for 10 years, and they count toward your handgun safety class that you must have before you apply. Funny you should mention that.....I'll be there Sunday checking it out. A good friend is moving there soon. (has inlaws there) I lived up in Vail for a year and a half and loved everything I saw in CO x-Denver and the area to the east of it. Never did get down to the Springs area but I'm really looking forward to it!
