In loving memory of Grandma

I found out this morning that my great grandmother Josie passed on early this morning and the young ripe age of 96. She was always the grandma that no matter how old you got you would still get coloring books or socks or barbies(for the girls). She was always there for the holidays and had the best stories about the beginning of the century back before any of us remember. She never drove a car in the 96 years she was on the earth, but she walked on her own up until about 3 months ago when she broke her hip when she fell out of bed. Being 100% Italian straight from Palermo, Italy, whenever you visited her she would cook you a 5 course meal in the middle of the day no matter how much you tried to tell her that you werent hungry. A loving mother, sister, grandmother, and almost great grandmother Josie will remain in my families hearts for ever. We love you grandma and we will miss you dearly.

Edit: I will be leaving Indianapolis tomorrow morning to drive to Buffalo, NY for showing and funeral.

Wow....96. There must be something to that olive oil/tomato sauce diet.

My condolences on your loss, but she sounds like she was a wonderful lady and knew how to love you guys.

Not only in your heart but in every holiday that you attend through your lifetime, every recipe that your grandmother or mother make which she handed down, and many many memories.

I dislike death, but it is a part of life. In order to die, you must have lived. It really is a beautiful thing when you think about it. She had 96 great years with loving family and friends.

May she rest in peace and I am sorry for your loss.
