You are basing your hypothesis on the Two Party system. Realistically, you have more choices.

But the Presidency is about more than fiscal policies or even domestic policies. The Presidency is about foreign policy as well, and when it comes to national security and foreign policy Ron Paul is a naive, unserious, isolationist twit. To put it mildly. I’m not a fan of McCain or Giuliani or Romney. I don't want to have to vote for any of them, if they get the nomination, but Ron Paul isn’t the answer to the GOP’s woes either.

Let’s hold out hope for Fred.
If you don't mind can you detail what you think our foreign policy should be?

I think I would end up being called an isolationist, I think we should mind out own business. Now that is not to say that if there is a disaster or some major event in the world that I feel we should not help. There is however a huge difference in helping when needed and helping constantly. I don't think Paul has said that we will completely turn out backs on the rest of the world. The MSM likes to make it sound that way.

I also don't think we should have troops stationed in other countries.

I think we should pull everyone home and secure our country from within. I seems to me this is the message Paul is putting out and I fully agree with it.

That is my thought on Paul and the others for that matter.

Really? When was the last time a third party candidate was elected President? We may hope and dream all we want, but the next President will be the nominee of either the Republican or Democrat party. And the next. And the next. And the next. And the next. And the next. And the next. And the next, etc.

It isn't a hypothesis. It was a hypothetical scenario. Don't read so much into it. It was more or less just a what would you do IF this happened. Not that it ever would....

hypothetical scenario, vote third party.

check out the Constitution party.

i'm a member, but i dont really agree with their 'biblical law' stance... however, everything else they propose is based on the constitution, and i can't argue with that.

their mailer has some pretty interesting quotes in it when they send it, and i've donated a few times. they're worth checking out if you are interested in 3rd party.

IF, in this Bizarro World that you suggest...I wouldn't vote for either.

No it doesn't. You can vote for whomever you want. Yet when the votes are counted the next President will be either a Democrat or a Republican. That means that in the real world those are your choices. You can choose not to vote, but you will still have a Dem or Rep as your President. You can choose to vote for a third party candidate, but you will still have a Dem or Rep as your President. You can choose to write in RP or Mickey Mouse, but you will still have a Dem or Rep as your President.

I can't wait for February. We can leave fantasy land and actually start discussing who has a chance of being elected President.

Your right...But I don't have to join the sheeple! I'll follow John Adams lead instead!
