Senate rejects attempt to regulate combat tours

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20877306/

Updated: 3:53 p.m. PT Sept 19, 2007

WASHINGTON - The Senate blocked legislation Wednesday that would have regulated the amount of time troops spent in combat, a blow for Democrats struggling to challenge President Bush’s Iraq policies.

This amazes me. There are three potential things going on here .... the Dems are weaker than I had expected, the Rep's are amamzingly callous or know just how stretched our military is, or none of them have any idea what it's like to be in country for that amount of time.

It's a short video .. 3 minutes or less but watch to the end to see my point ...

How about some just don't give a $hit because of their inflated ego's, and bullheaded nature. They bicker and stalemate each other over stupid crap, and attach amendments to each others bills so things will stall out.

This partisian $hit is getting people killed in Iraq, and at home, but no one wants to see the stupidity of leaving them in office. Yea, things shifted in 2006, we replaced Bozo's with Bozo's and put a different set of clowns on welfare.

Nothing they do surprises me!

Without seeing the exact language of the bill, I'm not going to pass judgment right now. While it does seem harsh (and I'm all for giving these folks the time off they need), the little I've heard about why this particular bill was shot down was that there were clauses involved that the Dems were going to use as "end-arounds" to try to end the surge and begin pulling troops out before it had run its course per the commanders. It makes good headlines to condemn this type of thing, but there's always more to the situation than makes the evening news.

The American abortion industry: helping rid the tired, huddled masses of their inconveniences and mistakes for four decades now. (But it's okay--the unborn aren't actually humans. What they are, we're not sure--but they're definitely not people.)
