House worked on again

A few of you might recall the ongoing saga of the drywallers and their inability over almost a year period, to properly fix my kitchen/family room ceiling.

The builder finally had to hire another company since the first one tried 3 times and failed to fix it. We had to stay at a hotel on two different occasions.

Well, this Monday morning, we (wife, daughter, 11 month granddaughter, father of daughter [don't want to explain that] and dog) moved out again. It was supposed to be done on Wed, but it was cleaned up today and we returned about 12:30pm.

Tho the hotel was nice (Marriot Residency) and the staff were friendly, I hope not to return. I actually feel lucky as we have only stayed: 5 days, 3 days and 4 days. Some people have stayed a month and all the way up to 4 months due to problems with their homes not involving the builder. Fire, flooding and vandalism are some examples.

So far so good. Everything looks fine, but I intend to wait about a week to make sure everything is dry in case it decides to shrink, warp or whatever. They actually did some extra this time as they completely painted the kitchen/family room though it was only the ceiling they were required to do. They also said they will install the ceiling fan we have had for about 7 months.

Maybe my bad luck is turning around a bit. Now, if I can just win the Mega Millions or Super Lotto when it is big, I will never, ever complain again in my life. I'll even pay to have you come to the range I will have built and you can shoot all the new guns I will buy for free!!. I'm sorry, they will have to be Ca. type guns.

Did you ever find out was was causing the problems in the first place? I am sure that this being the 4th time this was no patch and paint fix. Something had to be causing the problems, And from your last post I think it was was more than just the sheetrock...

EDIT: I got dibs on shooting the .50BMG

2nd EDIT: I forgot you live in Cali, Probably not allowed to look at a .50, let alone own one

Glad to hear it's finally going in your favor. I'm assuming you got some sleep during your stay without your back killing you.
