So my pit bulls were reported to animal control today

Thing is, my dogs are Boxers..

They got out of the back yard, mostly because our pigs broke the yard fence into the field. Someone called animal control claiming that Pit Bulls were running loose.... My stupid collie can run the neighborhood for a day and no one calls, Chainsaw and Sophie get out for 5 minutes and animal control rushes there...

My two trouble makers...

Then keep them contained.

I don't know how anyone could mistake a boxer for pit bulls but boxers are very high energy and can be very intimidating. Time for an electronic invisible fence perhaps.

We have already put in a dog run for the Collie, she is horribly noise sensitive and if the neighbors use their back yard range, she will damn near kill herself getting out of a fence. The 7 foot chain link is the only thing that we have been able to keep her in.

Half the fence around the rest of the back yard is 5 food welded wire field fence. Problem with that stuff is that over time and with force (the pigs getting into the back yard in this case) the welded wire will start to deteriorate and break up. Tonight I am sinking 3 new corner posts and replacing about 100 feet of that welded wire with new stuff.

Funny thing is, the dogs actually never got off our property. You see, our property is pretty well known because of our horses. Loads of people drive by every day and see our horses and have been watching our foals grow up (one is 4 months and one is 5 months old). So when someone drove by and saw something that they thought looked like Pit Bulls out with our horses, they apparently freaked out. You cannot see the back yard from the street, so the person would have never known that they were our dogs.

I guess its a plus in a way, people were looking out for us, but at the same time its pretty silly..

Just remember--the same people who'd call in a boxer as a pitbull also think any black pistol's a Glock.
