I have to be honest and say I wouldn't mind a little payback on Iran for taking American hostages in the 70's. I wouldn't be opposed to taking out anything that was nuke weapon related but I ain't for marching in and staying.

didnt they take the hostages after we overthrew their democratically elected leader and imposed the shah on them?

The Shah was already gone and out of power in January 1979. The hostages were taken in November. Yeah, I still want some payback for that!

...and the damage was already done. once they had enough fervor and freedom they got their revenge for it. i've seen the videos. the whole country, more or less, was behind that assault.
