So the Dodge has a Dana straight axle in front right. A man axle that will last when someone buys a truck to work and not show.

Yes, the Dodge and the Ford Superduty do.

I drive a Dodge as well. You made a great choice. In a year you will be singing Dodge praises. The diesel engines will last you for as long as you own it!

I like the look of the 08 Ford but with Ford swapping motors every year, I believe I will sit back and watch the 6.4 Power Stroke for a year or two, also my Uncle is getting like 10 miles to the gallon in his new ford. That Cummins is over 17MPG on the Highway.

Cummins engine is a winner, never impressed with Dura Max, I wish my Ford spuer duty diesel was half of what the Cummins is,my 2005 and 2006 Super Duty nothing but problems.

It is half .. that's the problem It takes 2 turbo's in series on the new Ford's to equal the same output of the Dodge and Chevy single turbo designs. That sucks in my opinion.

Ahhh yes ... I see. That's not a good thing. Though you can say the trailer shouldn't have been in the ditch to start with

Let me guess the heads. My buddy is a mechanic at the Ford dealer and said that he has replaced so many heads on the 6.0 Power Strokes that it is unbelievable. I know another business owner who's fleet is Ford Super Duty's all between 04 and 06 and they stay screwed up in the shop.

Owned an 03 quad cab 2500 6spd HO cummins powered dodge.
Shifting got old until I figured out that you could start out in 2nd and then skip to 4th and then to 6th. Would easily run way over the speed limit at max payload. ( over 100) (Stock) Never took it back to the dealer. Not once. Had to give up the $$$ monthly payment though when I changed jobs and only travled 2 miles to and from work. That truck would get 22 mpg on the hwy regularly.
The 06, 07+ auto transmissions are good pieces from what I hear. Got a buddy with an 06 4X4 HO mega cab. Towes an 8K LBS power washing trailer with it 5 nights per week at about 80 miles distance per night.

You made a great choice. Drive the snot out of it. Kinda like and XD. Shoot it as much as possible.

Thanks, one question that puzzled me why do they offer a 6 speed manual, but then a 4 speed auto I was a bit surprised by that.
