I don't think anything is being done wrong here. An FFL is not required to ship out a firearm, just to recieve one. And that's what he's asking for.

Also, as advised above, if you call his dept. don't ask anyone else ABOUT him, just ask FOR him.

Sounds like you've found a good deal!

Cheers!

I have sent numerous rifles and shotgun to an FFL, you don't need one to ship to an FFL, just to recieve. UNless you are in the PRK or PRI. Les

Thats what I thought but have always heard debates on it.

Ive also heard that if you are in a state of which doesnt require an FFL for a private FTF sale (like Nevada), a FFL is also not required on either side to ship them either.

Nothing seems funny to me. You should be good to go.

But when $$$$$ is on the line, you can't be to cautious.

Like mentioned above, you dont need a FFL to ship the rifle, BUT the rifle must be shipped to a FFL.

Any time I work a deal, I get the persons home and cell number and chat before any money changes hands. Also since you are probably sending a money order, you can do a search on the address to see if the name matches.

Oh yeah, by all means call him at work.

The purpose of using a FFL to receive the firearm is so that they aren't being shipped to kids and criminals. It's so that the FFL will be able to exercise discretion before putting the firearm in the hands of the intended buyer.

I'm pretty sure it is required everywhere.

Why is it nobody knows for sure and when people act like they know for sure they get proved wrong? Can someone post up some facts? or atleast link us to some facts? It seems like we have all just learned from word of mouth rather then the true laws. Anyone can get on here and say "this is how it is" but never back it up with real facts.

PM 03ranger or whatever his screen name is I forget. He is a officer in Cherokee county and lives out in Marietta. He could easily find out about an officer in Roswell it's up his way....
