Had to drill a hole in my........

FINGERNAIL!

When helping my buddy get ready for the gun show Friday at his shop, I was putting zip ties on the actions and an M1 Garand fought back! OUCH!!!

Talk about hurt. I saw white and yellow for a second.

It has been healing pretty good but I had allot of pressure still so I took a tiny drill bit and used my fingers to work it on the fingernail to relieve the pressure. POP! It worked.

Thanks!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program........

Yes I have. And now I am very familiar with it......

I have 3 Garands. Two WWII and one of the D-Day commemoratives.

I refinished the stock of the '43 one I have. I am taking it to the gunsmith later this week. He only does Garands and M1 Carbines. Going to have it re-parked and the correct parts I have put in it to make it factory correct. I will shoot it at the club in the Garand matches.

Good Lord! LOL.. I can't believe anyone would "drill" a hole in their fingernail.. don't you know any doctors? We have at least one around here!! Next time ask!!!

If you use a lighter to heat up a needle, red hot.. you can use it to press through the fingernail. It will melt the Keritan, and it will relieve the pressure.. drill.. good grief! LMBO

Fact for the day:

Quote:
Nails grow from a "growth plate" located at the base of the nail. It's the half-moon shaped area at the base of the nail near where the skin connects. Nails are fomed by special cells called epithelium. Epithelial cells grow from the growth plate and as they mature, they are pushed outward. During growth they die and the inside of the cells become filled with a hard protein called "Keratin". It is the keratin that makes our nails hard and tough.

Its not that wierd to do that. I work in construction, and there have been many times I've hit my thumbs or fingers with a hammer very hard. everytime I've done it i've drilled a hole to relieve the pressure. After you smash your finger it really cant get that much more painful

What, make an appointment to see the DR so he can perform some proceedure that has the same result as I got and have me pay $10.00 and my insurance pay hundreds? Besides, it cut in to my range time.

I smashed my finger at work one time. The doctor did the same thing. I still lost my finger nail though. It took around eight months to grow back right.
