I don't know if I'd go that far to say the article implied that but here's a link to the PDF: http://www.firearmstactical.com/hwfe.htm

The FBI report of 1989 is purely technical.

The url that I posted shows the real, down
to earth happenings on the street.

The .22cal still holds the top spot on the
chart for kills by any caliber. Sadly!

By the way, I did not mean to imply that the
FBI was going the way of a .22cal for their
own use.

I just bot a Walther P22 for plinking.... and it's a blast, and accurate as hell for a 3.5 inch barrel. I guess it's b/c walther designed them as fixed rather than floating, but I was easily hitting in a 5 inch target with careful aim and all within probably 18' or 20' rapid fire. Obviously recoil was not a problem, but I was pleasantly surprised - wasn't really sure what to expect out of it, it's not a caliber I've really shot much before, except a few rounds with an old remington rifle.

I've only put about 200 rnds thru it so far, but I'll double that this weekend.
