my brother has a pit bull dog. it is actually a very friendly and playful dog. of course it was trained properly. it is the owners fault. any dog can be aggressive and deadly if poorly trained and abused or whatever.

Little dogs, while not that dangerous, are a great example of no leadership or boundries and what will happen. Most little dogs are crazy, it is because no one disciplines them.

"Its so cute, i couldnt get mad at it for mauling your face because it looked like you may have been eating a pup-eronie!!!!"

Dogs attack, people attack, little dogs attack, children attack, hampsters bite, rabbits bite, snakes bite...... where is the argument people?!?!?!?!? everything if threatened will attack, some attack without being tempted. humans are a great example!!!! look at our prisons, and mental wards, and schools!!!!! I got an idea, lets outlaw people too, because you never know, if they were brought up wrong, they will probably attack someone some day, possibly with something a little more dangerous than their teeth, mabye GUNS, KNIVES, BATS, CARS, BOMBS..... you tell me when a pit bull puts a van full of maneur in front of a building and blows half it to the ground, or crashes a plane into your skyscraper, then ill go with it....

I'm an insurance inspector for homeowners insurance carriers. Dobermans may not be in the news, but I can tell you they will get you dropped from several carriers. They are dogs with a bite history. My brother used to have some. I can't stand them personally, but to each his own.
If you'd like, I'm sure I can get you some numbers on how many lawsuits involved neighborly dobermans biting/mauling other people, but you may not want to know. I would never leave a child around one, or a Chesapeake, or a Chow either.
Just my experience, with many breeds and having had dogs my whole life ( 42 years).
All dogs have the potential to bite. I can show you pictures of little poodles that will rip you a new ***, and mutts too.
I see lots of dogs everyday when I work.
I'm sure there are many fine Doberman's out there.......I just don't like them period.

Recipe for disaster (with any dog)...You could make the best trianed/nicest dog in the world go nuts like this....hope nothing bad happens...I really wish animal control would get invovled more of your tax dollars hard at work
It's not isolated to pits, but that one incident has made me very wary of them. The next door neighbor kid beats it with his shoe every time he lets it out to feed it and one of these days that bomb is going to go off. So in the current case, ownership would be the cause.

[sarcasm] They work real hard for my tax dollars down here! [/sarcasm]

You need to get video of this and take it to the police station. Or just take ahold of the neighbor and beat him with a shoe.

I don't blame you for being wary, I'm wary of EVERY dog the first time I meet it

and the current case you speak of sounds simply disgusting!
