No no, if the gun jumped over the fence and forced its way into someones house and shot them while they slept then I most definitely would blame the gun.The owner of the dog didn't pull a trigger on the dogs or sick them on a sleeping lady it was the dog.

It's the owner's fault, not the dog's.
Having owned labs for 13 years, I can say Ive seen some that I wouldn't get close to ( especially Chesapeake's).
They all have their moments.
The pit bull gets a bad rap because they get the press.
As many people have been bitten by other breeds, you just don't hear it.
For a while it was Doberman's, then Shepards and Rotty's, then Chows, now Pit Bulls and Presa Canarios.
Do you own a gun? Gun owners are all violent people too right?

However if the gun went off and ended up killing someone due to the owner's lack of propper maintenance who would you blame then?

So pits were breed for a hundred years to hurt other dogs but they will draw the line when it comes to people. I hate to say it but they may be getting women and children mixed up with other dogs then..

That is exactly what they were bred to do: The handlers were in the pits with the dogs...a dog that was aggreassive towards humans was handled the same way you would handle one *BANG*

Dogs are simple creatures. Aggressive behavior, no matter how small can be reinforced...some breeds easier than others. It is all in the training and the owner's position in the pack. Most owners let the dog be dominant and this can encourage aggressive tendencies in some breeds. If these dogs have a surplus of energy from being cooped up in the house all day they must release it...probably explains why the woman and her dog were attacked. Nature took over.

inbreeding and a lack of training can lead to unexpected consequences
