We also need to ban tall buildings, high bridges, and cliffs so no one can jump to their death! Why is that dude climbing a power pole? Oh, I see; better ban those to!

No, you can not rent a gun unless you come with a partner. Since that's the case, renting a lane would not make any sense....

If you bring your own guns you can rent a lane, obviously you are not there to use their guns to kill yourself.

It doesn't make it next to impossible, but it makes it a little more difficult. Sometimes a little delay will deter the attempt, but if the person is completely determined they will find a way.

I generally disagree with her, but I will say that it's a little more "instant" and there is no turning back, unlike pills or slitting of the wrists... She was very anti-gun, and was basically saying that guns are the cause of almost all suicides.

Hmmm...I've only rented one pistol at a range in greater Houston (last year). However, they did let me rent one. Can't recall but I probably had my own gun with me, but no shooting partner. Yes, stupid people do stupid things...I always hope they don't go out "in a blaze of glory" when I or a loved one is nearby!

Yep, it's a tragedy for those of us who elect to live and shoot for a hobby. It drives insurance rates and bad publicity up for ranges. My ragne says that their insurance company is really pushing them to drop the rental part of the deal.

Not to be insensitive, but it is the truth. He took the cheap way out, and we will pay for it in increased costs and negative publicity.

I am glad I could rent an XD to try it out, they don't have any weird policies where I went, though I had to do a 1 year real basic membership first.

It isn't the guns, it's the depression and feeling hopeless that makes someone want to die. Many people who want to die want it to be quick and painless, so if they can get a gun, that's what they do. They want to put themselves down in the same way you would put an old dog down on a farm. Imagine how much pain you would get cutting your wrists or hanging yourself.

the Indoor ranges here only let you in alone and rent if you have your own gun or a membership.

otherwise there have to be 2 or more people in your lane.
