While I think sagging pants are stupid and make the people who wear their pants like that look stupid I don't believe we can have our clothing choices dictated to us.

Some of you may bring up a indency argument... I would typically side with that...however the majority of thugs that wear their pants like this also wear GIANT t-shirts that cover their underpants. It's like seeing clowns...except without makeup.

If the law actually reads like they said in the story (i.e. sagging pants that expose the wearer's underwear) then I would have to buy some saggy pants and go commando. Can't expose 'em if yer not wearin' them!

Seriously... I'm not into that style of clothing, but I think it is a very bad thing when government starts telling people what they can and can't wear. Even more troubling is that they didn't even give the citizens an opportunity to discuss it.

Hmmm, no freedom of expression...I don't agree with a 'law' about it. I do however agree with tickets for indecent exposure because it is getting out of hand. I saw a kid the other day with his pants down about mid thigh with three pairs of boxers 'layered' under them. Walking like he's 'saddle sore'...but thats todays trash...I mean society....

It's silly, yes, but it's nothing new. Carmel, Ca. (real near where I live) women can't wear high heels and people can't eat ice cream on the side-walk. A lot of laws like that are old, you don't see a lot of new ones being passed. To me, it's just a waste of legislating power. Do we really pay these people to sit around a decide this stuff? Imagine how much time and money they probably spent on passing this.

What does the transcript of those meetings look like?
"...Uhh, instead of education or crime, lets spend a lot of time worrying about how people wear their pants. Done. Next item of business, the potty language needs to stop."

-They gonna tell you to clean your bedroom too?

I couldn't have said it better myself.

you should see the looks on the punks here who walk around staring at my wife grabbing their crotch, When I turn so they can see my open carried firearm, The see that I am holding one too. I had one apologize to the wife and pull up his draws the other day., Just cause I gave him that you are about to die look, and he noticed my stainless 1911.

Well, with 3 layers of boxers on, he's certainly not exposing himself. I would say that he is much more covered up than someone wearing a bikini or a speedo.

I'm fine with busting people for indecent exposure, but if they aren't exposed then we should leave 'em alone. Just because we think it looks dorky doesn't mean it should be against the law.

And before someone says something about "they are called "underwear" for a reason"... so are the long john shirts that people typically wear under tee shirts in cold weather. Those people are exposing an "undergarment" as well... should they be busted for indecent exposure?

Maybe I'm coming on too strong about this, but I really don't agree with the "I don't like that, so let's make it illegal" mentality. Makes about as much sense to me as the "guns scare me, so let's make them illegal" mentality.

Saggy pants and 3 layers of boxers never hurt anyone. It doesn't matter if it is a style favored by gangbangers.

You could even extrapolate it to something like this: Baggy pants don't rob people... people with baggy pants rob people. Sounds a whole lot like... guns don't kill people... people with guns kill people. The baggy pants aren't a problem. The behavior of some people who wear them is the problem.
