Kudos to Mrs. Ichy
Watching the news tonight and I heard a familiar voice coming from the tube and looked up to watch an interview w/ the wife of our very own Ichy_Trigger. Apparently she witnessed a nasty head on wreck this morning on the highway and from what I can tell from the bits n pieces of news stories, took charge of the scene and did what she could till EMS arrived on scene. She is a nurse, so she had a clue what to do, and she can be rather strong willed so I don't doubt she had all the other "helpers" walking lock step doing what needed done till the rescue teams got there, and likely beyond. She was a natural for the camera too.
Good on ya gal! Glad to see the kid was ok, and I hope the lady pulls through.

Yup, that was her, she was on her way to work and a truck up ahead of her went across the median and struck 2 other cars head-on. She said it was a pretty gruesome scene and I will spare you all the gory details of the injuries. Shes always been a hero to me, this was just another page to confirm it.
Thanks for the good words about her, Tony.

She is obligated by her nursing license to provide assistance to whomever may need it when she comes across soemthing like this. BUT, shes just a good person and would have stopped no matter what. We have happened across a few accident scenes that were pretty nasty, one in zanesville where a 17 year old broke her neck. The wreck yesterday was so hard that it broke the car seat in half that the womans 3 year old was in. He had a big goose egg on his head and that "appeared" to be the extent of his injuries. She wasnt so lucky.

***UPDATE***
While on the scene, my wife borrowed another womans cell phone in order to call this womans father, she was a single parent. Her father called that number back recently to thank the woman who cared for his daughter at the scene. the woman told him that it wasnt her but would try to track down the woman that it was (my wife). She remembered where my wife had said that she worked and so she was able to track her down. She told my wife that this womans dad was looking for her and wanted to talk to her. They traded cell numbers and my wife is calling him this afternoon. As of now, here is what I know of the injuries... The driver of the truck that went left of center said the front of his truck dropped down and then he lost control. He had a 7 inch gash in his head and required 30 stitches. The woman my wife helped had a child in a car seat in the back. his car seat had broken in half. He sustained 3 broken vertabrae, a broken arm and a broken leg, he is in a body cast. His mom suffered pretty trametic injuries and we dont know the full extent yet but he chest was crushed by the steering wheel and her legs were also crushed. At least 1 year rehab and already had 3 surgeries. My wife is going to go to the hospital to see her tonight.
