Trigger job on TC Muzzleloader

Trigger job on TC Muzzleloader

All of the discussion lately about trigger jobs on rifles got me thinking, anyone ever adjust a trigger on a muzzleloader? Maybe even specifically a newer Thompson/Center? I've only shot mine about 12 times, but I think I'd like a trigger with a slightly smaller pull weight.

I did this search and found a PDF that has the trigger assmebly on it. Takes a while to load, but has the needed information for the trigger adjustment (TC Encore)

Nice looking T/C Triumph. That's the rifle next on my list. Where did you get it at and how much if you don't mind me asking. I don't live to far from Michigan City.

I got it at a place in Valpo. I had to call all over the place looking for one in camo. Finally found one there. I called and they were about $60 higher than Bass Pro, but they matched it at $499. I think the place was called Blythe's Sporting Goods, or something along those lines. I think they had several in stock when I went. When I called, I gave them my name and they put it aside until I got there. If they had one for you, I'd suggest you do the same. These have been selling extremely well so far.

You can make a world of difference just polishing the internals on all contact points. Dont touch the sear engagement surfaces. Use wet/dry paper and some oil on an absolutely flat surface. Start at 600 grit and work your way up to 1200 or higher.

Do you use anything afterwards to re-coat the metal?

Nope, put a light coat of oil on them and reinstall. Ive NEVER had a trigger mechanism rust.
