Thumbs up EXCELLENT (Springfield’s XD9 Subcompact) ARTICLE from Officer.Com

EXCELLENT XD9 Subcompact ARTICLE at Officer.Com from their Law Enforcement Technology Evaluation Team…
“The off-duty firearm needs to be a deliberate consideration. Law Enforcement Technology tested the Springfield Armory's XD9 Subcompact and found that it exceeds this standard.”…..You can view the article here.

Great article.

"It is no coincidence that the XD9 Series has increased geometrically in popularity. The Law Enforcement Technology test team predicts this firearm will be a department-wide purchase for many agencies. It has set a new standard for innovation in off-duty handguns."

The word is getting out--Gaston's little pistols aren't the only game in town anymore.

Awesome! Great for the XD line to receive this kind of high praise from the pros. I've always said that the XD has essentially the best of two worlds--the Glocks and the 1911s--combined into one to make for the best "working" handgun in the world. These guys seem to agree.

Good read.

I don't know. It seemed too one-sided. Like the author was paid by SA to write the article. I was hoping for more comparisons.

I see what you are saying.! But hey it is ONE AWSOME PSTOL!! I did notice they talked about the rattle of the magazine.. I thought they would have talked about the full size Magazine capacity though.

ooo...

I like it, but SA will have to change their parts policy (at least toward LEOs). I can't imagine a large police department having to keep a dozen extra XDs on hands so they can send in XDs for repairs.

As the article points out and many understand the XD series is FULLY field serviceable including easy to field replace sights and recoil spring assemblt (module unit). Also, the internal striker has fewer moving parts and is "an uncomplicated and reliable way of igniting the primer".
