My dad used to give me all the .22 shells I wanted to control those digger squirrels. ( We had horses ) I learned that walking around, I would find 2-3 to shoot at in an hour, but drive out in the middle of the field and sit in the truck , you could blast at them for hours.

you may want to bring a bigger round if it's going to be windy, those lil' .223's will blow all over on the open prairie @ 150-200+ yrds.
also, if you pop one near a mound don't be surprised to see a few others drag the body/entrails into the mound... crazy critters! |
