Holsters...owb....paddle or belt etc.
Hey guys, I'm kinda having a problem makin up my mind as to what kinda holster(brand etc) I want to get. I already have had good results with a Hume leather open top belt holster, but I've always had a slight issue with it.....whenever I get my belt tight enough to hold it securely....and unholster the weapon....the thing will smash to where I gotta lean over to get it to slide back into place. Thus makin fast reholstering a problem sometimes...
I've been thinking the possibility of getting some kinda paddle holster, made outta some kinda thermoplastic....but I've had bad luck with some of those too. I've had a fobus when I first got my XD...and it scratched the crap out of it....and got uncomfortable to wear while driving. I thought may be a different brand might do better on the finish...made out of somethin less harsh. I've thought about some kinda paddle leather holster...but not sure which one....I was hopin the paddle style would keep the holstering part of out out further for better holstering. Then again I liked the looks of the kydex type belt holsters...kinda like this one. http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum2946.php I liked the looks of these ones too..... http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum4666.php http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum1771.php Any advice would be helpful....I don't want to spend a huge fortune on somethin I won't like, or won't be as useful as I need it to be as it'd be for daily carry. Thanks so much guys.

I got a Fobus paddle, it didn't scratch mine, but all holsters wear a gun somewhat. Kind of like all dirts wear a shovel. I do have the non-Serpa Blackhawk, and really like it, use it for IDPA. I keep a paddle for when I need a holster quick.

I have the OWB Blade-Tech with the Tec-Loc attachment system. I believe it's the best of a belt and paddle setup. Cant is adjustable.

I'm also looking for a OWB holster for my XD-9's. I'll be watching this thread for sure.
I'm leaning towards the Blackhawk CQC level 2 one myself, but am still doing research...

I am a huge fan of the DeSantis Speed Scabbard. I have one for my XD-40 Service, 1911s and the SIG 225. Its very comfortable and a well made holster for the money. Gene DeSantis has been around for a long time and makes great stuff.
Check e-bay...sometimes DeSantis holsters show up for as low as 30 bucks, or order a new one for about 65 bucks directly from their website. -Brickboy240
