Cavalry Arms medical kits

Does anyone carry a medical kit with them when they go out shooting? I got to thinking about this last time I was at the range: What would I do if I had an accident?

The range I shoot at is private, I get in by opening the padlock on the front gate. I am often the only person there and am probably 20 miles from a hospital.

I saw these kits from Cavalry Arms. The Individual Combat Medical Kit is supposed to treat:

It seems like maybe not a bad idea, especially for someone like me who is out on there own. Any thoughts?

Not a bad idea. I keep a first aid kid in my car, try to stock it with trauma/stop the bleeding typ stuff in cass of an accident while hunting or shooting.. This looks well thought out.

After seeing these I looked at the kit I carry in my trunk and realized how silly it was to think that my band-aids and ace bandage were really going to help anything. Anything I can fix with my kit doesn't really need to be fixed

I forgot to post the link, they can be found here: http://www.cavalryarms.com/medical/medical.html

They have several different kits, but they are pretty pricey.

Does anyone know of anything similar from other companies?

edit: I also noticed that you can buy just the Celox by itself. That alone might be something that upgrades a regular kit to something really useful.

even though I don't shoot or hunt with d. chenney, I always have a small "shot" kit in my range bag. Blood clot powder, wraps, sterile bandages etc. My most important piece of medical equipment.....my cell phone. Great thread to post.

I carry one similar to this one, which in turn is similar to the Cav Arms one: http://www.buyemp.com/product/11004.html

The pouch I have is similar to the Xpouch, but mine is red to facilitate quick and easy locating. I also stocked it with my own items rather than buying a pre-made kit. I usually take the small kit whenever I tag along with someone else. When I drive myself, I leave the little kit at home, as I carry a more comprehensive jump kit in my car.

You never know who could be at the range or what could happen. All it takes is for one yahoo to ruin a day or a life.

This thread reminds me of the scene in "Shooter" when he's in the car wash.

Very good post! I'd like to get me one of those now, too.

I wonder how the kit would handle the heat of a trunk?

I have a large kit in each of the family cars, I carry a small one in my messenger bag where ever I go and the private range I am a member of has a large one at each of the shooting areas and a major trauma kit at the club house. Each of the shooting areas also has a GPS coordinate posted so that life flight can drop directly down as close as possible to any injured persons...
