As an agent for Palm.com let me recommend, if you're going to play with all the cool email/internet gadgets, make CERTAIN you buy the unlimited data plan for your Treo.

Palm doesn't make any money off the plans, but we still encourage people to buy it, because if they don't, they're going to pay through the nose - and then they're not going to want our phones.

That said, the 650 is a great phone. We still heavily support it, but it has been replaced by the 680 - and while most of the software will work for both, software for the 650 exclusively is being phased out with us. If you see something you want, I suggest you get it shortly.

Sounds like you got a really good deal on it - enjoy!!

i just get the 680 a month ago. i love it so much i bought my wife one too(helps alot in school). how much did you pay for your 650 because at&t sells refurbished 680s for $99. and it still comes with a yr warranty. i got lucky and got my brand new 680 for $60 thanks to at&ts sneaky tactics. i havn't tried internet connections with the phone since my 12" lappy goes everywhere i do

I think I'm the only college student these days who uses the cell phone for making actual calls

I'm on Verizon and have the 700w. Had to do alot of leg work prior to going to Verizon for the phone because I did not want the data package. They kept telling me I had to have it, can you say commision. I had heard horror stroies of people not buying the package and getting huge bills. The reason is the phone connects to the internet on its own and looks for kilobytes of usage. After saying the magic words "I'm cancelling my service" they meraculasly were able to put a full data block on it. Then I strolled in to CompUsa and bought a SD WIFI card and can use hotspots for free. Always do your homework before buying.
There are alot of nice websites dedicated to the Treo. I think Treonauts is the one that gave me the most info.

Does someone make IWB cases for it?

How much did you pay? I used to work for Cingular and I know we had a lot of problems with the 650's battery, them freezing, no voice dialing, and they shut off randomly. They also have not been in use in 6 months when they got replaced by the 680 and the 750. Hopefully this one doesn't happen to you but if you can I would switch to the 750.

The blackberry is a much better phone. Be careful about adding apps to the treo. The treo OS isnt known for stability.
