E-mail to Winchester Ammunition Division

Sent an e-mail to Winchester about the round of 7.62x39mm I had that simply fell apart and caused a FTF in my WASR. I explained what happened to them and at the end asked if "this was a once in a life time failure, or was there a production failure for this round?" I'm really hoping they say "NO! And to prove it to you, here's X number of free rounds for you to try." I will probably get a reply that says, "Thanks for your inquiry on your concern of our ammunition. We will make sure this is... .... ..."

What do you think their reply will be? (If there is one)

*I put 500 rounds of Russian surplus ammo through the AK without a problem, but the first Winchester round I had jammed. I explained that in the e-mail.

Good luck. I got a .40 S&W loaded backward in the case, and I emailed and called them to let them know. I got a letter stating I needed to mail the faulty ammo for them to inspect so they could determine what was wrong with it. I couldn't just mail it in, I had to send it UPS in a box meeting certain requirements, with certain labels, etc. In the letter, they said I should do thins at my own expense, unless I wanted them to mail me shipping labels, in which case I should call them. I called, and left the lady a voicemail, stating I was writing so they would know, not because I felt ripped off, but if they really wanted it back, send me the labels, and I would get it to them. I then got the labels, but haven't sent the single round back because I haven't found a box that meets their requirements. I am going to make a small shipping crate when I get a chance, so they can have the damn thing back. The whole thing really stinks if you ask me, and I am less likely to buy the Winchester stuff because of it. I'll pay the extra buck for Blazer Brass, which feeds better in my gun anyway.

Yeah that's pretty much what I am expecting to happen from them. Big companies don't really seem to care all that much I guess. Poo

If there's a way to send a picture that could get your message across, I think I'd try that to see if it piqued their interest.

If you send the actual round of ammo, I'll bet you'll never hear from them again.

Big companies don't like to acknowlege mistakes.

I emailed them a photo of the round in question shown in this thread, and got the response I did.
