Foster children

After 7 months of classes and home inspections after home inspections, my wife and I are finally have a licensed foster care home.

And three days after the license arrived in the mail, here is the fruits of our labor.

Getting some tips from our birth daughter for her first four wheeler ride

Summer for the ride along until she gets the hang of things

And finally got it down

If you ever have the chance to do foster care, jump on it. It has been nothing but rewarding for Jenny and I.

Congratulations on the newest member of your family. My parents used to foster care children while I was growing up. I know I liked having them around since I am an only child ( Adam, my little brother passed away a day after he was born.)

I wish you and your family all the best.

Congratulations, it is a wonderful thing you and your wife are doing.

In a different vein and this is not criticism, just a question. Are the kids not wearing a helmet just because they are going slow. And no, even tho I live in a nanny state, I'm not advocating the same. Just inquiring. Thanks.

Enjoy her, I'm sure you and your wife will have a positive impact on her life.

Congrats!
The smile on her face has to be the best payback for all the hard work you've been thru.
She must be very happy to have found such a loving family.

Congrats! My parents fostered a child when I was in my early teens. It is tough situation; but it is, as you said, very rewarding.

Good luck!

Good friends of ours just got out of foster care. They've done it for 15 years and 13 kids later, the local police just charged them with child neglect.

One of the kids got hurt jumping on a trampoline, he sprained his arm. The next morning they took him to the doctor because he said it still hurt even though he could move it normal.
Well the school nurse called the police the next day because he said it still hurt. The nurse and the police said they should have taken him to the hospital the first day even though he could move it and wasn't crying. They said 14 hours later was too late. The state pulled their license after that and now have charged them. To top it off, they just found out a woman stole her identity and was a convicted felon, so that lady's record shows up when they went to run her name and birth date.

It really soured them after pouring so many years of their lives into it.
The children they took in all had emotional or physical issues. Most were drug babies or fetal alcohol kids.

But they adopted four of the kids over the years and they would never have done it any other way even if they knew this would have happened.
Now they have to go through the process of clearing their names. They were charged because when they ran a records check on the woman, they saw the long rap sheet so they decided to charge her instead of dropping the charges. And to top it off the woman who stole her identity has been dead for 4 years.

I commend you on becoming a foster parent. To few people are willing to do it. We have thought about becoming foster parents but we've already got 5 children and don't quite have the space for another right now.

Good luck and many thanks for the children you will be helping.

God Bless.
