Yep you are correct. The car ran the light and not the guy on the bike.
I am surprised that the guy on the bike survived.

Hope he is ok but I can't believe he got out of that without serious injury.

Get real. Really!?!?!??!?! They can come to a stop at a red light and then run it??
Kind of defeats the purpose of the red light don't it?

I can't say that I'm surprised...in Cali, a motorcycle rider can fly in between cars in the middle of the lane, or on the shoulder for as log as they want to without breaking any laws. Some states sure have some interesting motorcycle statutes.

Yea, it seems kind of crazy to have a law like this. On the other hand, I ride a 225 trail bike on the street sometimes (street legal) and find that I can sit for days waiting for a car to show up at a left turn light because the bike is to light to trigger the system. Thus I don't make left turns if traffic is light. I go straight and make U-Turns that are probably more dangerous than making a left on a red when there is no one around. Of course if I did make the illegal left, I just know I'd get a ticket for not obeying the law. So, U-Turn it is

As for the video, the guy is lucky to be alive, then again maybe he was only alive for a while. Riding is a risk, but it really doesn't help when your not being observant and neither is the other guy. OUCH

North Carolina has that same law. Motorcycles are allowed to split traffic.

Apparently, all our lights are wired for motorcycles. Heck, when I ride my pedal bike, I have the lights change for me, as long as I roll up in the center of the lane. IMO, I think this is a BS law.

Check This One

Check this one out. Watch and listen carefully. That's a red light, and the guy in the cars gets cited Hmmmm, now I'm all for yielding to emergency vehicles, heck I drive one every day, but this ambulance is at fault, 100%

Hey, that was my 333rd posting, halfway to 666, or way past 69, whichever.

Wow, that was a hit! They were lucky they didnt go over.

As far as yielding, I thought the ambulance could run the light. I know its that way in NC, and failure to move over can earn you a ticket. At the least though, he should have slowed approaching the intersection.
