Chicago is called the Windy City not because of the weather, but because of their politics. You'll have fun here, and if its in one of the burbs, don't worry about bringing your guns. You just have to keep them out of the city of Chicago. I'm in the west burbs where we do still have some anti's, but they are also pretty gun friendly. If you do end up staying in Chicago, and cant bring your toys, send me a PM and I'll go with you to a range in the burbs and you can get your "XD fix".

You could take a side trip to Genesco and visit Springfield. Then again they might not let you in the building due to security.

I'm in Michigan Ctiy, which is only have a half hour. I was there just last last night actually for the Taste of Chicago.

I try to avoide the Taste of Chicago.....WAAAAAAAAAAAAY to many people.

But yeah, let us know where your staying, you MIGHT be able to pack a friend.

I still think Giordano's is the best pie in town, but it's such a close race.... Uno's/Due's, Gino's, Lou's, Connie's, they're all good.

I used to go to week-long conferences in DC, Chicago, Atlanta, and Boston. So, I've been to each several times. Ranked on hotels, food, public transportation, and having something to do, I would put DC on top, then Boston, Chicago, and Atlanta last. If I were thinking about a permanent move, Atlanta would rank higher and DC would rank lower.

Warrenville is about an hour away from downtown Chicago, so if you want, it's safe to bring your XD.
