What kind of protection programs do you have on it?

MS Auto update is also a memory hog to say the least. I would be interested to see what is sucking up your speed, how computer savvy are you?

Are other programs running like normal?

go in to your control panel and turn off auto updates and then recheck the web speed.. this is just a test..

Negative.

And I turned my updates off..the CPU Usage is still going from 5% - 13% and its still slow..

I even took off the only 2 games I had on here which freed up about 3.5gigs and that didnt help.

WAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

seriously man, 5-13 ain't ****... My system can be running like mad and still be smoking fast...

Go into task manager and click on processes. Click cpu twice to to group the fastest ones to the top and see what is using the most cpu, then do the same for memory and tell me what is in the top 3 for each.

what does it say your physical memory usage is?

My guess would be something is running at startup and taking up system resources. You need to run a good anti virus and firewall. You can go to the most innocent websites and they can load in a virus. You can even get a virus through jpg pictures.

Not going to bad sites isn't enough protection in the high speed internet age.

what does it say your physical memory usage is?
Top 3 CPU is :
1, System Idle Process (96)
2, Bearshare.exe (03)
3, MMJB.exe (music match jukebox, its what I use to play music and put music on my mp3 player) and its (02-03)

Memory :
1, Yahoo Messenger.exe (34,476 K)
2, Bearshare.exe (31,476 K)
3, MyspaceIM.exe (24,748 K)

For the Phsyical Memory,

Total = 523268
Available = 1225152 (it goes up and down a little)
System Cache = 202940

Note: this is a semi decent comp.. not no suped up gaming rig.. just something I use to chat on and such.. my other comp is a beast. :]

I totally agree...

Wanna make it clean for sure instead of just guessing that it is, go to thread and follow all the instructions.. You will be amazed what it finds..

BTW I recommend skipping step 6 as step 7 will pretty much take care of anything that will be an issue for you.. Following the steps up to 7 have always taken care of any machine I have found with issues.. 8 and 9 are good measure afterwards..
