New range bag idea, and pics of where I shoot

I was at Sears recently, and found something to use as a range bag:

It cost me $15 on sale. If you look on the top right, there is an insulated portion where you can store water and some of those blue ice blocks to keep them cold. I haven't tested this feature to see if moisture can/will seep through to the main compartment, but my wife thought it was nice, and even if it does leak, it can be used as a regular storage compartment.

Here is a view inside:

as you can see, it can hold a lot of stuff. I removed the eye/ear protection, and the bandolier of SKS ammo to get a view of the other ammo inside.

For $15, it works great. It's sturdy, large, and cheap.

Here is a view of the area I shoot at, near the Great Salt Lake:

The large hill to the left makes for a good backstop. Those are cows in the background. Once I started shooting, they wandered away. When I stopped, they wandered back.

Here is a view of the lake, which is to my back while shooting:

Some of the cows do like to wander out in the dirt roads, and look at you funny when you honk at them. I think they have seen enough shooters in their day, and get bothered by the noise, so they wander off till you're done.

That bag has "range bag" written all over it. I think the outside compartment would be great for handgun storage, might even hold 2 pistols.
Your desert looks really deserted! at least the Nevada desert has some color and some small trees and shrubs. (Not trying to have a "my desert is better than your desert war" )
Thanks for the pics!

I grew up in Vegas, and I have to say that going out to this area really reminds me of home. It's very similar to the desert of Southern Nevada. Most of the desert close to the Great Salt Lake is like this, it seems, but when you get a little further away, it gets greener. The only thing living in the lake is brine shrimp, because the salt content is too high.
