Jeep'ers role call. Where ya at?

I've seen a couple of you talk about it in the truck threads as of late. It's cute to call my XJ a truck because it isn't a "Jeep", but I know it isn't a truck either. Anyway, this isn't about XJs, just wondering who Jeeps here.

I have a 2000 XJ auto/242. Swaped a Isuzu D44 into the rear with a OX. Put a Trutac up front and running 4.88s with 33s. Have a pieced together homebrew/Rubicon 4.5" lift and full armor. Next will be to get my Waggy 44 up front with another OX, go Super 44 in the rear, and go 6" longarms with 35s. That will probably be done next year. Wheel all over Colorado and went to Moab for the first time last year. Will be going again this year. Love my XJ.

I will drive my XJ till it crumbles. The only thing that looks interesting to me are the new unlimiteds. Maybe after they age a bit it would be a good platform to build. I wish Jeep woul dnot have gotten rid of the 4.0Ls but they definitely moved in the right direction with the Rubicons. I just might swap in a RockTrac to my XJ, but for right now I am happy with my 242 and it is my DD.

The new engines put out the same numbers as the 4.0Ls. The 4.0 just had so much proven history and are completly bulletproof. They were a bit heavy. I 350 Hemi weighs the same as a 4.0L. The 2000 has the distributorless ignition which makes it even better. Sad to see it go.

And why they never put the 4.7s in a Wrangler is too bad to. If they come out with a diesel I just might buy one. I've been waiting on one.

I have a 95 YJ I drive daily. It has a 2.5L (4 banger) with a 5 speed, 31's, cold air intake, throttle body spacer, and a winch.
Great fun,
Dave

Not Really a Jeeper but I do have a well beaten 94 XJ 4.0l with 210,000.
I needed a puppy hauler and I like my"Shoe Box" allot more than I though.
This was a one owner but there daughter drove it to collage for four years.
Took 3 full days to get it Safe to drive agian,(Vent window ,Partial floor pan,Brakes all around, exhaust, axle joints).
Before winter I am going to jerk the motor and freshen it up it knocks above 4,000 rpm and spews oil if you drive it 70+ on the highway.

Just sold my '99 TJ back in 2006. Owned it for many years. I miss it dearly, but I do not miss the gas mileage.

I am rolling in an Audi A4 now. Love it.

I am looking for a cheapo TJ again as a winter backup\playtoy.

I got a 97 TJ, 4 banger green with the tan canvas top. I bought it 2 weeks before my wedding in 1997, as a defiant statement as my last independant decision before getting married! My wife loved riding in it!!

Now ten years later with three kids, we hardly drive it but it's paid for and we can't bare to part with it. I'm gonna keep it as the first car my kid gets when she turns 16....

It's still in great shape (garage kept) and only has 74K miles....

I'm a big motorcycle nut, but there's nothing better than taking the windows & doors off, pulling the top back and driving around in a Jeep in the springtime or fall season....just an awesome feeling.
