To the best of my knowledge, from what I know, I don't like this piece of legislation. My feeling is that we have all the gun laws we need and quite a few that are excessive and need to be done away with.

This is what the Gun Owners of America say about it; I agree with them.

Prometheus beat me to it. I contacted the NRA got some kind of double speak response. I'll see if I can find it.

if this stays strictly a better records to keep those that are constitutionally not allowed to own firearms I'm for it. However if it moves into keeping records or anything else I'll be sure to e-mail my elected officials again. I did way back before the NRA got involved.

I agree "B", and I'm sure the NRA will keep a close eye on the evolution of this bill...as will I!

Sounds logical!
But I will agree with Krackels also, we have to many laws of all types, not just guns.

Chances of this working & staying true to its current form, are about the same as peace in the middle east.

I think the NRA is doing a huge disservice to those they claim to represent (I am 1 of them). SUre they can really help get this bill on the fast track, but can they really expect to put the brakes on if they need to?

I have noticed that pretty much every bill gets changed in some fashion, thus I agree this will not end up like the NRA intended, and they won't be able to stop and back the truck up if it goes bad.
