I'm sure many of you in CA got this, but...

I hope it's OK to post this from the NRA. Let me know if it's not.

California Ammunition Registration Bill Heading to Assembly Floor!
Please Contact Your Assembly Member Today!
fficeffice" />>>
Assembly Bill 362 was amended and voted out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Thursday, May 31. It is headed to the Assembly floor where it could be voted on next week.>>
>>
AB362, sponsored by Assembly Member Kevin de Leon (D-45), would require identification be presented for all mail order and face-to-face ammunition sales. Sellers of ammunition would be forced to keep detailed and accurate sales records. No retail seller of ammunition would be able to sell, offer for sale, or display for sale any ammunition in a manner that allows ammunition to be accessible to a purchaser without the assistance of the retailer or authorized employee. The bill was amended to include a “user fee” on ammunition sales to defray the cost of background checks on purchasers. NRA-ILA will have more information on the new amendments once they are in print. >>
>>
The Federal law requiring ammunition purchasers to present I.D. was repealed by the Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986, because it was found to be ineffective in reducing crime.>>
>>
It is critical that you contact your Assembly Member TODAY and ask that he or she oppose AB362. Contact information for your Assembly Member can be found by visiting http://www.assembly.ca.gov/acs/acsframeset7text.htm or by using the “Write Your Representative” link below.>>

I knew about this, but thanks for posting it. This just provides further evidence to all of you who live outside this state what we live with. Please don't say move, as it isn't always that easy. That time may come, but not yet for me.

The premise is, as always, to be able to catch the bad guys, as if they will go into stores and buy their ammo. They will either steal it or buy it elsewhere.

LAPD Chief Bratton and LASD Sheriff Baca both jumped on the bandwagon on this one. They are putting on a political show as they both know the bad guys don't follow the laws.

As I don't live in Californie, I won't read the bill, but is there a loophole that might allow for reloading without all the hassles if this were to pass.

Also, you might write and ask if it is OK to carry a pencil in a concealed fashion. Maybe you can get them banned. Then they will not be able to write this trash.

That said, the flag is a symbol. It is not the United States. The United States is bigger than the flag... Etta Place
