EOTech not as good as I thought.........

I just received my EOTech 512.A65 in the mail and mounted it to my AR15. When I turned it on to check it out, I was suprised at how fuzzy the image was! I turned the brightness levels up and down and moved the sight forward and back a little on the rail and that didn't change the clarity. I expected a high resolution image but the outer 65 MOA ring looks like a rat's nest ring of barbed wire and the center dot looks like 3 fuzzy grapes stuck together!!!
What's the deal? Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Please help........

Does the sight picture change when you change Eyes? I have noticed that on my red dots, that my right eye the failing one makes the dot look like crap, and when I switch to my good eye, it looks perfectly fine.

Just a thought...
Good luck

Did you sight it up to something far away? What happens when you do that? It seems to me that when you focus on something other than the Eotech it should sharpen the holosight.

I have only checked out a holosight once, so take my .02 for what its worth.

This is how they are. If you focus on a distant object like someone already suggested it will sharpen up a bit. It never totally gets crisp and clear.

I will be sighting it in very soon at the range. I've just been looking through it around the house ( you know, ninja tumbles into open doors). Hopefully you are right about it getting crisper when focusing on targets and looking "through" the hologram. I was just a little disapointed at the image clarity and can't imagine it being accurate past 100 meters, but we shal see. I will post a range report next week. THANKS FOR THE INFO!!! It's nice to know if you have a problem that there are people out there that can help.

The center dot should be clear. The outer ring is only a simple area aiming aid for the Bindon Aiming Concept. With both eyes open and focusing on the target you will not truly notice the fuzziness of the outer ring.

I think I see your problem:

This chart should be perfectly clear and readable. If not then you need glasses.

The EoTech isn't intended for use at 100 meters and beyond. It's an optic for CQB environments.
