Guess who's back...

...back again. anyway, after a 5-day timeout, and a 4 day jount in West Virginia for a wedding, I'm back.

Took the wife to an indoor range last week on Wednesday, and she's amazing. She's a natural. We rented the only 9mm they had (a glock something or other) and we brought my XD45c. This was only the second time she has shot a gun, the first was with me and was a .22 revolver and a .32 S&W revolver.

She shot at 3 yards and 7 yards and the ranger officer and myself were pretty impressed. I don't have pics of the target.

She finished up with the .45 and I gave her 5 rounds, other than first shot, about an 1" high, she put the other 4 into one ragged hole in the bullseye.

She wants to go shoot again this week, and after a husband, wife, and their 16 year old son were murdered in their home over the weekend, she wants to get something of her own.

oh yeah, the glock had a failure to eject on the last round fired, don't know when it was last cleaned, but we only put about 75 rounds through it.

When I took my Basic Handgun course there was a twenty-something blondie a couple lanes over who had never even touched a handgun before in her life. After the lecture on safety, functions of the gun, and some pointers on stance and grip, she picked up a Mark II and punched a ten round inch-and-a-half group at five yards her first time shooting.

You gotta watch out for the ladies.

Innocent life is cheap--a few hundred bucks for an abortion. Guilty life is expensive--a couple million for appeals, incarceration, and execution. How bass-ackwards is our society?
