I would have had a hard time not killing the a$$hole that did this to an elderly, 91 year old World War II vet. The people in the background that watched this go down should be summarily executed for not doing anything. I have no words for what I would have done to the $hithead that committed the crime.

The people watching are pathetic excuses for human beings. That vet is one tough man! I could not have stood by and done nothing and still have looked at myself in the mirror in the morning.

That is sick. And listen to the vet. "get a job. work for a living." He still only wants what's best for that boy. and even though he is 22 he is a boy. No MAN would do that.

Hmm. Here... now... in my house, nice and calm... I can say that I would have pulled my gun and told him, "LET HIM GO M*****F***** BEFORE I BLOW YOUR F****** BRAINS OUT!!!"

And followed that up with kind and gentle requests using the F word to lay down and be very still. Assuming he did all of these things he wouldn't get shot.

However... that sort of abuse to the elderly or children is a bit of a weak spot for me, as I'm sure it is for many of you. There is a distinct possibility I'd react in a more severe way.

Regarding the bystanders... I take deep satisfaction in making the assumption that if the way they were raised and the life that they lead that would cause them to let an old man get severely beaten and do nothing, despite outnumbering the car-jacker about 7 to 1... then their lives are probably just one step above living in hell. And eventually, they won't even have that 1 step.

It has nothing to do with him being a vet......I would have stomp'd his head till his eyes popped out. I bet you that he will get a light sentence, more than likely some kind of 'racial' thing will come up. The bystanders should be held as accomplices(sp). I was told twice (once by my DI, and once by an OSHA Safety Officer) that I AM my brothers keeper........

That is why I have a CCW! Another one of the USA fine "LOW LIFES" that we would be better off with out, and the people that stood around and watched! I just hope that at some point in there life they need someones help as they are getting their head smashed in so they can see how it feels

I can't even begin to explain how much that pi**ed me off. That worthless punk needs shot. he is a piece of sh%t and thats all he'll ever be. And as for the bystanders....not much better than the POS doing the beating, the fact they just stood there..WTF!! I still can't believe it! just stand there and watch while other human being is beaing beaten to death!!! WOW has our society really degraded that much? I hope karma comes around and hands there a$$es to them.

+1+1+1+1 I totally agree. The bystanders SHOULD also be charged for not doing something about that. If you are in an accident or see an accident you can get in trouble for no stoping and rendering aid if there are injuries. The same should apply here.

I watched it again to pay more attention to the bystanders. They didn't even yell at the guy from what I can tell. Even if they are a bunch of bed-wetters the least they could have done was scream at the guy that they were calling 911. Why is Detroit losing record numbers of middle and upper middle class residents? Well, if you can afford to not live around people with that kind of citizenship wouldn't you leave to? DISGUSTING! I'm amazed that the old guy apparently recovered so well and so quickly.

I will probably get called a "Nazi" for this statement, but so be it.

If it were up to me, I would start going door to door in the hood between the hours of 9 and 5 p.m.. I would ask for a recent paystub. If you cannot produce a recent paystub, school transcript or proof of disability, I would cap your a$$ in the head and move to the next door.

Contribute to society or die, I say.

That video is exactly why I carry concealed. When I saw the infamous "pizza shop" video of an innocent man get beat nearly to death by a 400 pound "Suge Knight" type, and the people in line stand there and do nothing, I vowed to myself that I will NEVER be a victim like that.
