One of the draws of THR is that it is so well moderated. It really helps to keept the newbies and trolls in check. If you compare THR to say XDtalk there is really no comparison. Xdtalk is chaotic and virutally unregulated. People are always posting in the wrong section and there is some questionable content and flame wars that would make a sailor blush.

Interesting comments. I would think this guys head would pop if he visited places like GlockTalk...

As the moderator, now admin, I take responsibility for some of this.

Although things get a little out of hand sometimes, they almost always seem to fix themselves, don't they? Once in a very great while we need a little help (Erich) then Old School steps in. Works for me!

Most of the time they do work themselves out. I tried not to make this a Nanny State-type forum, by allowing people to be individuals. Once in awhile, some step out of line, and I step in. I always ask folks to make me aware of threads I have not yet seen.

As a collective body, we all need to keep this place clean and running smoothly.

Dont take it as me calling you out (not sure if you did), it was merely a FYI to members. If I was to call you out, i'd PM you like I normally do about my concerns

That guy is a clown...this place is not out of control by any means.
...and...well...I like some questionable content once in a while, and it is even more exciting when it is posted in the wrong place!!!

Give this guy a break. He's obviously still a virgin.

Actually he is a very senior poster on the other forum. Try not to flame him, he has a legitimate point

I agree. While yes, we got off topic sometimes, and yes, we have some arguments of the heated sort, I feel like we are a very well behaved self regulated forum, with only minimal mod input needed.

I think though, that it's possible that xdtalk has been changing a bit due to the recent popularity spike of the XD, and that most of this chaoticness and such is a result of that (growth is good; I'm not saying anyone should leave or isn't welcome), and the hack, of course.

Anyway...that's just how I feel. Even though I've got almost 700 posts, I'm still a n00b here (I feel that I am, anyway)...just a very outspoken n00b. And I think that this is a great...nay, grand! forum. Great and grand.
