I disagree. I think grey looks tough on a gun. Man that is one good looking rifle. It embarrasses a Beretta Storm. It's no easy trick for a firearm to be designed to look "All Business" and "Stylish" at the same time.

funny you mention the storm, that was something i considered also due to it being available in .45 and 9mm. but once i actually got to handle one, i realized it was too light, too small, and polymer felt flimsy like a toy.

Yeah, I didn't like the Storm I rented at the Range. I kept having the sneaking suspicion all that polymer was covering up things on the gun I wanted to see. It seemed to have too much recoil for the weight of the weapon, considering it was only a 9mm. I didn't like the sights either.

Impala,

Enjoy it. My SL8 has about 100 rds through it now and at 200 yds was shooting about 1.5MOA off a bench block w/ a couple towels thrown over it. I am not all that good a marksman w/ long guns and I am sure the rifle has a better performance in it w/ a better shooter and a proper rest, but so far I like it (esp getting it w/ scope unfired for under 1k)

maybe its just me, but if a gun costs 1200$ you really shouldnt have to do anything to it, it should already be at perfection at that price. sights, color, barell not to ur liking, what exactly did u pay for???

You change things based on your likes/dislikes. To a lot of people $450 for any tool/toy (your xd) is a ****load of money so why would you add anything/change anything on it? It's a matter of what you want and can afford. The only way you get something 100% the way you want is to order it straight from a factory w/ unlimited options.

As for my sl8, I intend to use mine for distance shooting/varmiting. As such, iron sights would not cut it so I needed to buy one and add scope, or buy one already scoped. I also think the gun looks better blacked out and intend to dye the stock this summer. Besides, it's mine and I don't care what you think... neener neener neeeeeener.

Fwiw, I am saving right now for a Johnson 41 semiauto rifle. $3500 avg sales price in good cond. And after that, I'll probably start saving for my HK sear, and you thought the sl8 was spensive.
