I hope that new wall will be at least 20 feet high, and 20 feet deep. Wishful thinnking, I know.

Those guys like throwing large rocks at BP officers and their vehicles. In 2005, there were about 230 reported BP officer injuries from this. From Jan 2007 to March 2007, there have been 270 reported injuries. I heard this on my local news a few nights ago.

Border vioence is clearly on a dramitic rise.

If you're a BP agent and you fire on illegal border crossers...you just might go to jail. Even if they fire at you, try to run you over or are a known drug smuggler carrying 700 pounds of weed. (use Google...you'll find the stories...they're not even a year old)

If I was in that green uniform on the border...hell...give me an empty Beretta and 870 shotty....I'm not going to jail for any illegals!

If you or anyone else were on the border patrol you would be hamstrung and not allowed to do the job you were sworn do to. I don't know how those men and women do it day after day. The frustration must be overwhelming (a friend of mine's husband is in the border patrol and he is looking for another job last I heard). Kudos to them for doing such a difficult job in the face of overwhelming political pandering against their efforts.

Elect me president or whoever is in charge of the border:

"Here is a bunch of military surplus rifles, MGs, AT-4s and grenades. There is a fence. If you see someone jumping it shoot them. If you see someone wandering around in the desert stop them. If they resist or shoot at you, shoot them first."

That place down there to me is no diffrent than any other battlefield. Tomorrow something way worse than an illegal immigrant could sneak their way across the border and we will be in a world of hurt.....again.

Borders are not free fire zones unless there is a war going on. Even then civilians are not targets. In this scenario would you only shoot them on the border or would you shoot illegals if you found them on the street on on a job site?
I don't like illegal immigration and I do support the fence and an increase in the number of Border Patrol officers and I want our government to actually support them when they do their jobs. However the people sneaking across our border are just that, they are people, they are humans not targets.

I for one am not willing to sacrifice the life even one border patrolman on someone not willing to come into this country legally. When they are getting charged for murder in what is obviously a self-defense situation something is obviously wrong with how the situation is being ran down there.

Yes, illegal border crossers ARE human beings...BUT...if these people shoot at BP agents or try to run them over as they evade arrest...the BP agents should not go to jail.

You live in Virginia...I'm here in Texas...you haven't a clue as to how bad it is in a border state.

You either have the border patrol and shoot people who try to violate your country's borders, or you don't and live with the consequences. You can't be a fence sitter (*snicker*) on the matter.
