I would also like to know what kind of fealonies that those 22 people had commited. I know there are a lot of fealonies I feel that shouldn't ban people from gun ownership.
I also find it very odd to practice for three days to shoot yourself. Maybe she wanted to do it but had to convince herself to physically go through with the act. I presume that they conclusively proved that it was suicide and one of those felons didn't miss the target in a bad way

You correctly state that not all felonies should prevent people from owning guns, but that's the current law, and it seems to work so its staying.

That happened here in the bay area
Dannyg, as soon as I read, ..."in the bay area..." I didn't have to read the rest to understand.

I know you didn't mention San Francisco in particular, but as we all know, 58% of those people (yes, I said "those") passed that initiative to bad firearms and ammo. And when you add in Berkley and Oakland, well, go figure.

this just happened in Tampa. http://www.wral.com/news/national_wo...story/1271531/

ranges do provide easy access to a variety of weapons. its a ballsy place to try and steal a gun though...

Wait, wait, wait. What felonies do you think should not prevent someone from obtaining a handgun?

I suppose income tax evasion seems plausible but then again that's what they got Al Capone on.

I think a felony conviction is a no-brainer to deny someone a firearm.

Tax evasion sounds like a good one as well as tampering with a VIN or fraud of certain kinds, computer trespass or hacking, these are some that are completely non violent and imho don't sound like the normal felony charges of rape, arson, murder, and burglary. I'm not entirely convinced that some of the felony convictions should bar people from owning ammo and firearms or voting.
