Military Personell that Carry
Do you carry to and from work everyday. If so do how do you store your weapon while on base. I know we can bring weapons on base but they must be unloaded locked up ammo away from the weapon, ect.
Thanks for anyhelp.

I can't bring any weapons on base, so I don't carry to or from work.

I think you are going to find that most, if not all bases, have a "No Firearm Policy"
Check with the base Legal or Security Detachment before hand.

No carry. But, should you live on base and own a weapon, it has to be checked into the armory.

Well Lejune has Skeet ranges and if you live in the barracks, or are a SGT. or below and live in base housing you have to be able to bring firearms aboard the installation to check them into the Armory, since you can't keep them in your room/house.
I'll check with PMO later this week.

According to the PMO at my base, only persons that live on base may register a Personally Owned Weapon (POW). This includes Archery equipment.
When entering the base, ammo must be locked in a separate container. You must inform the Gate Guards that you are returning from hunting or shooting and that you have a POW with you. You must produce the registration for you POW at that time. Registration is conducted at the access control point. Call in advance in order to make an appointment and to receive instructions on how to proceed with the registration process. In other words, at least here, you can not carry a POW to and from work.
