Do you CC XD 4" ?

I am curious as to how many of us choose to carry an XD 4" sized pistol over the Sub-Compacts for concealed carry.

Can you still conceal a Service model fairly well ?

I'd love to hear opinions either way.

I carry 9mm Service in an Uncle Mike's size 15 elcheapo sidekick...cross draw. Jeans and a black T-shirt untucked [standard everyday attire]- you never see it and carries very comfy.

I've been trying diffrent postions with my 4". I kinda wish I would have gotten the 3" as my dad suggested but I'm also happy with my 4". I think I'm going to have to go small of the back to get it concealed well enough to not print at all. Its not so much the barrel lenght its the grip length.

I carry a 45ap service and have no difficulty with concealed carry. Prior to purchase, I read several forums where the individuals were below average height and weight and had no difficulties carrying 4" XD. IMO a quality holster is critical, too.

I carry a Service 9 in a CTAC and will be carrying it with my new K&D Dakota Defender as soon as it comes in this month. I carry mainly at 4:30 strong side and occasionally cross draw if dress dictates.

I can see the virtues of the SC, but I don't like the trade off as far as versatility. I may in the future get the grip chop done, but as of now it is not really necessary. I just have to pay a little more attention to the butt for printing. It limits placement a little, but not enough to be a problem.

I carried my service model 40 for a couple of months when I first bought it. It was a little hard for me to conceal so I bought a sub compact 9. Which I almost always carry. But now and again I do carry my service model, depending on what I am wearing, ie., a jacket.

I experimented with an XD9 sc and don't find that it is all that much more concealable than my XD45 service compact. A little bit, sure, but not enough to be worth buying it to carry instead of my .45.

I have been around the forum for a little bit and never noticed that there is a section just for polls until I posted this poll.

Sorry mods

I could only vote for one, so I voted for Service even though I CCW both XD45 Compact and XD40 Service... I carried service for quite a while before I got the compact.
