selling a pistol to an out of state resident..??

I had an offer on a pistol im selling from an out of state resident, he told me he would be driving through my state (Nevada) and could pick the pistol up.. Is this legal? Here in Nevada, residents dont use FFL's to sell their pistols so how would I go about selling my pistol to this out of state guy?

I believe, and double check this, they have to buy through ffl in their state with appropriate background checks, transfer, etc.

Be very careful...

Now he says that he has an aprtment in quincy CA. but indeed has a NV I.D card and claims to be a Nevada resident. He said he would bring a photo copy of his I.D and bring his I.D card for me to check out. I wrote out a bill of sale and am going to have him sign and print his name along with writing his I.D/DL # down for my records.. Should I be ok here?

I'd still go through an FFL just to be safe.

If he is a KY resident ill sell him anything that is legal.

Out of state ill go through a FFL.

I buy most all my guns from this board, AF15.com, GlockTalk, or others.

I ALWAYS go through a FFL when selling a firearm to someone out-of-state...no exception.
